Tunica Rivergate Festival is April 18 through 20
BBQ contest, Crawfish Alley, live music, contests and fun in the mix
TUNICA – The Tunica Rivergate Festival takes place in Downtown Tunica, Thursday-Saturday, April 18-20. Join in on the fun in the heart of the Mississippi Delta for a weekend of art, music, contests and fun. This the 31st annual party in Downtown Tunica and everyone is invited.
Activities include a BBQ competition, live entertainment, and crawfish. The festival is free to the public, with food and children’s activities available for purchase. Last year the Crawfish Crew at Crawfish Alley sold more than 16,000 pounds of crawfish.
The schedule is as follows:
- Thursday, April 18
• Crawfish Alley opens at 5 p.m.
• Live music begins at 5 p.m. at the Rivergate Park Amphitheatre.
• A VIP Sponsor Reception begins at 6 p.m. at the Main Street Events Building.
- Friday, April 19
• Children’s Activites open at 4 p.m.
• Craft and food venders, cooking teams load in at 4 p.m.
• Crawfish Alley opens at 5 p.m.
• Live music begins at 5 p.m. at the Rivergate Park Amphitheatre.
• Live music continues at 8 p.m. at the Rivergate Park Amphitheatre.

Landmark restaurant celebrating 100 years
TUNICA — Blue & White Restaurant is celebrating 100 years in business. The Tunica restaurant is a landmark. For years and years, when giving directions to Tunica (the town), people have said, “Go down Highway 61 and turn right at the Blue & White.”
Opening in 1924, it was originally located in downtown Tunica. It moved to its current location at 1355 Highway 61 North in 1937. Some staffers have been at Blue & White for 40 years. • The BBQ Contest begins at 10 a.m.
• Live music begins at 10 a.m. at the Rivergate Park Amphitheatre.
• Crawfish Alley opens at 11 a.m. and they will sell until it is gone.
• Live music continues at 1 p.m. at the Rivergate Park Amphitheatre.
• BBQ contest winners will be announced at 3 p.m.
