GULF COAST — Chinese New Year, also referred to as Lunar New Year, is Sunday, Jan. 22, starting the Year of the Rabbit. Several Mississippi casinos have events planned throughout January to help celebrate this special time of year.
Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort
On Saturday, Jan. 21, a Dragon Dance will be held in the hotel lobby at Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort starting at 7 p.m. This traditional dance is performed to bring prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year.
Golden Nugget Biloxi
Golden Nugget Biloxi is hosting
a free Asian concert on Sunday,
Jan. 8, in the Grand Ballroom. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the
show starts at 8:30 p.m. Later in
the month, on Saturday, Jan. 28, guests can win a share of cash in the $10,000 Lunar New Year Cash Giveaway.
Players club members can receive entries for every 20 tier credits earned while playing baccarat Saturday, Jan, 7, through the
giveaway date. On Jan. 28, activate entries by earning an additional 20 tier credits playing baccarat. Starting at 10:30 p.m., 12 players will be selected to win up to $500 cash. The grand-prize winner will receive $5,000.
Beau Rivage
To celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, the Beau Rivage atrium will host a traditional Lion Dance at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15, prior to a concert by Xuân Quý Mão in Beau Rivage Theatre.
The Lion Dance is free and open to the public, while tickets to the concert are available by calling (888) 567-6667.
Following the show, The Buffet will feature a Vietnamese- themed late-night offering of pho, bánh mì, chicken
curry, beef lo mein, stir-fried vegetables and more from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Pricing for the late-night menu is $26.88 perperson.
Win Table Bets, Free Play in Golden Nugget baccarat giveaway
BILOXI — The Year of the Rabbit Baccarat Series at Golden Nugget has players winning Table Bets or Free Play prizes. Just play baccarat to receive entries for a chance to win.
Players club members can earn entries weekly by playing at baccarat table games only. Receive one entry for every 20 tier credits earned. Each Monday, one winner will be selected to receive $800 in their choice of Table Bets or Free Play.
Winners do not have to be present to win. Names will be posted on the website, and players must claim their prize no later than midnight the following Monday.
Entries do not carry over week to week, but they do carry over for the monthlySaturdaydrawings.
Grand-prize drawings on select Saturdays in February, March and April will have six winners selected to each win $1,000 in Table Bets or Free Play. The Saturday monthly drawing dates will be announced in advance each month, and drawings are set for 10:30 p.m.
For these drawings, entrants must be present to win. Entries must be activated between 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. by earning 20 tier credits playing baccarat.
