Flame throwing, giveaways part of Cruisin’ action
Island View Casino Resort
Island View Casino Resort hosts one of the hottest Cruisin’ the Coast events during the fall classic car event with the Flame Throwing Contest. This will be held next to the Island View Casino parking garage (north side of Highway 90) on Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 4 to 8
p.m. Tricked-out hot
rods will compete as
they rev their engines
and light up the night
with raw power.
Admission is free,
registration begins at 4 p.m. and the contest starts at sunset.
There will be live entertainment featuring Ty Taylor & The Kinfolk. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. All ages welcome to attend the outdoor event, but guests must be 21 years of age or older to enter the casinos, hotels or restaurants. Beau Rivage Resort & Casino has a number of ways for Cruisers to enjoy the week of classic fun. The party at Beau Rivage gets firing on all cylinders Wednesday, Oct. 5, with the official sock hop featuring the New Orleans Mystics.
Guests are encouraged to bring their poodle skirts, bobby socks, jeans and white T-shirts for the night of jumpin’ and jivin’. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the New Orleans Mystics take the stage at 8 p.m. in the Beau Rivage Theatre. One of the best Motown rhythm and blues shows on stage today, the Mystics are a high-energy act delivering impeccable harmonies.
The sock hop kicks off with Terry Mason’s Hot Rod Show, a classic radio show-style with trivia and a dance contest from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Guest can also participate in a meet and greet autograph session from 6 to 8

Beau Rivage has the 2022 Cruisin’ the
p.m. with Joe and Amanda Martin of Martin Bros. Customs and “Iron Resurrection” on Velocity Network; and Courtney Hansen, executive producer and TV personality of MotorTrend’s “Ride of Your Life.”
Tickets for the sock hop are $10 plus tax and service charge.
Johnny Dawg of NaNaSha and the Triggerproof All Stars keep it going from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. for a post-sock hop party at EIGHT75. Admission is free.
On Thursday and Friday, Oct. 6-7, The Beach Boys take the stage in the Beau Rivage Theatre. The performance is part of their Sixty Years of the Sounds of Summer tour.

Guests can go Cruisin’ to Earn with a mystery multiplier at Golden Nugget Biloxi on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8. A mystery points multiplier, ranging from two-times points to 10-times points, will be announced each hour from 3 to 10 p.m. Players club members must be playing slots (no video poker) with their club card correctly inserted in a slot machine to have their points multiplied. A 10-times points multiplier is guaranteed for at least one
hour.
