Support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Casinos ‘think pink’ during October
MISSISSIPPI — Every October, people across the country show their support for those affected by breast cancer. The month has been named National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in an effort to get more people mindful of the disease, along with understanding early detection steps, locating available resources and realizing fundraising possibilities.
Mississippi casinos show their support for breast cancer awareness in a number of ways, including the display of a large pink ribbon, the universal symbol of breast cancer awareness, made out of hydrangeas at Beau Rivage where guests are sure to notice — in a flower bed outside the Roasted Bean. At other casinos, table felts and casino lights will turn pink and there are pink drink offerings. Even giveaways in October center around the awareness of breast cancer.

Scarlet Pearl Casino

Plus, guests will be able to drink pink this October at two restaurants. Try one of two cocktails offered in Beach View Casino’s Prime Cut: Carter’s Champions made with lemon vodka, triple sec, juice of three lemon wedges, simple syrup, a splash of cranberry juice, a dash of grenadine and sour mix; and the Real Men Drink Pink, a bourbon, Crème de Noyaux, pineapple juice and simple syrup combination.
Across the street at Beach Blvd Steamer, enjoy a TaTa Martini made with vodka, lemonade, Razzmatazz raspberry schnapps, cranberry, sour and simple syrup and garnished with pink sugar.
WaterView Casino Hotel
At WaterView Casino Hotel in Vicksburg, their message for October is togetherness. Wearing Pink Together is the message that can be found on the back of a T-shirt that will be given away on Sunday, Oct. 1.
On the front of the shirt, there is a pink ribbon. MyEdge cardholders can swipe at any promotional kiosk from 3 to 7 p.m. to receive a ticket that can be redeemed in the Event Center for the T-shirt. Shirts are

Additionally, several Treasure Bay venues will add special pink items to their regular menus in October. The Den has homemade pink cheesecake with strawberry topping, while The Cove has the pink cheesecake along with pink tacos. In the Infinity Buffet, grab a few pink cupcakes at the dessert station or get them with a to-go buffet. Proceeds from these items will also benefit the American Cancer Society.
Hard Rock Biloxi
Guests can pink their drink in a cool way at Hard Rock Biloxi. During October, the Center Bar is offering the Pink Lady Daiquiri. Made with Tito’s, strawberry puree and pina colada
mix, this special drink is $12.
Island View Casino
In Gulfport, Island View Casino Resort is also turning pink with a few noticeable changes throughout the resort. The felt on the high limit blackjack tables in the North Casino and on two of the blackjack tables at Beach View will be replaced with a pink felt for the month of October.
