Beau Rivage helps with memorial for fallen Biloxi officer
BILOXI — eau Rivage, Saving A Hero’s Place and the Biloxi Police Department partnered to honor and create a lasting memorial for fallen officer Robert McKeithen. A 24-year Biloxi police officer, McKeithen died after being shot outside the city’s public safety center in May 2019.
Saving A Hero’s Place, a Texas- based nonprofit organization run
by police officers and families,
has a mission to honor fallen first responders by providing a permanent
place of reverence. The memorial
is in the form of a custom-built
chair known as an “honor chair.”
It promotes healing and peace for public safety organizations through the remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Since its inception in 2013, the organization has honored heroes
in 20 states. The organization presented its 171st honor chair in recognition of McKeithen at the Lopez Quave Biloxi Public Safety Center.
Beau Rivage and Biloxi Police Department officials were on hand at the dedication of the honor chair in memory of slain officer Robert McKeithen.
