With the opening of Scarlet Pearl
in D’Iberville, the Coast now has 12 casinos; 10 in Harrison County and two in Hancock County. D’Iberville created new entrances to the city
with $31 million improvements to the intersection of Interstates 10 and I-110. The new casino will employ 1,500
workers, bringing the total of gaming employees on the Coast to 13,000. According to the American Gaming Association, one of every 10 jobs in the state of Mississippi is supported by casinos, and the total economic impact to the state, as of 2014, was $4 billion a year. >>
