Now, if you’d rather hold on to your mancation fun money, you and your boys might prefer a little aquatic therapy and there’s a catch of a lifetime just waiting to be snagged. About 62 charter boating companies line the Coast from Pascagoula to Waveland. These charters uniquely offer every kind of recreational sport fishing from wading to deep-sea and there are more than 200 species just waiting to be lured and reeled. Your captain is awaiting your call.
Or if you’re not baited by a fishing excursion, check out the ecotours and swamp walks scattered along the coastal waters
and as far north as Picayune. You’ll find guided kayak tours and motorboat cruises to photograph pelicans, ospreys, herons, egrets, and even bald eagles. There are opportunities for nature hikes and rock wall climbing – the fun just never stops and you might even see an alligator sunning itself on a marshy bank.
However, if you’re searching for a different kind of green, get your swing ready for pristine, picturesque courses from Bay St. Louis to Pascagoula. The Coast has about
20 greens designed by golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Davis Love III, Mark McCumber, Jerry Pate, and Tom Fazio,
and they are just waiting for you to make a hole-in-one. No matter the handicap, your team will find the perfect course.
But, sports participation is not everyone’s forte, and maybe you and your crew would prefer to kick back and watch a game or
two. The Coast offers two professional
sports teams – the Biloxi Shuckers Minor League Baseball team and the Mississippi
Sea Wolves, a Federal Prospects Hockey League team. The spring season begins for the Shuckers in early April and the winter season ends for the Sea Wolves later the same month. Whether you’re in the stands or on the ice sidelines, you’re bound to bond with your boys.
And don’t be afraid to just explore in your downtime during your mancation, after
all, it’s called the secret coast for a reason. Even academy award-winning actor Morgan Freeman was charmed by the 62 miles
of coastline that winds into 13 seashore communities and he helped opened the blues joint and restaurant, Ground Zero Blues Club Biloxi in February 2022. There are so many seaside gems just like that to be discovered and you might just start a new annual mancation tradition.
