Dear alumni, students and friends,
I am deeply honored to serve Kentucky State University as the 18th president of this great institution.
As many of you know, I believe in the power of public land-grant Historically Black Colleges and Universities — a belief that inspired my academic research. More importantly, I believe in the power of KSU. And I believe it is time to move KSU Forward.
How will we get there? By developing a campus that is student-centered, service-rich and community-oriented. By embracing the ABCs of transformation: securing our Accreditation, building our Brand Identity and reinvigorating our Cash Flow. And finally, by building our future on the four pillars of success:
n Access: So that everyone who has the desire to earn a public education has access to a KSU that is open, diverse, inclusive and affordable.
n Academics:Sothatourcollegesremainfocusedontheirareasofscholarship and research, supporting a culture of academic rigor.
n Agriculture:Sothatwecontinueourlegacyasan1890land-grantinstitution, and a leader in the areas of aquaculture and organic research.
n Athletics: So that we embody our Thorobred spirit of teamwork, strategy and victory — just as we have for four straight years at the Circle City Classic. What will it take? It will take your support. It is with great excitement that
I introduce the KSU Forward Scholarship Fund. Now, every member of the KSU family has the opportunity to come together, support our students and continue the KSU legacy for generations to come.
I look forward to meeting you, along with many other alumni, friends and members of the KSU family, as we embark on the KSU Forward tour. It is my great privilege to tell you in person about the exciting developments at KSU and about the great work our students are doing at a location near you.
