GAMING HALL OF FAME
The highlight of the 2018 Southern Gaming Summit, bringing together industry leaders from around the country, was the induction of the inaugural class of seven gaming pioneers into the Mississippi Gaming Hall of Fame.
Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour described the inductees as “real giants” in the industry. The honorees
for 2018 were Lyle Berman, Grand Casinos co-founder, and Bernard “Bernie” Goldstein (posthumously), Isle of Capri Casinos founder, who received the Industry Pioneer award. William S. Boyd, Boyd Gaming executive chairman, and Mississippi State Sen. Tommy Gollott, District 50-Harrison County, were honored as Industry In uencers. And,

Jack Binion, Horseshoe Gaming Holding Corporation founder, and Rick Carter and Terry Green, co-founders of the Island View Casino Resort, were honored in the Commercial Gaming category.
The event was sponsored
by the Mississippi Gaming & Hospitality Association and held at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi.
