Peter Anderson Festival
Welcome to Ocean Springs and
to this year’s “festival season” where we showcase the town, our one- of-a-kind shops, restaurants and galleries surrounding the 38th Annual Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival presented by Blue Moon! Artists come from all over the United States and from throughout our Gulf Coast to take part in this exceptional, cultural event. More than 400 artists, crafters and food vendors fill the downtown streets with color, character and quality pieces.
This festival holds a special place for me as it celebrates the arts in honor of master potter Peter Anderson.
His shop still creates unique, warm pottery pieces in the heart of downtown to this day. The Anderson family has been a monumental part of our arts community and its growth since the early 1900s from creating
an arts colony to inspiring a vibrant arts community and business center in Ocean Springs. We thank the family for their creativity and commitment to this town and to the arts.
The team that makes up this festival from the artists, musicians,
volunteers, organizers, local business owners and beyond all work together to bring this amazing two-day
event to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
I am honored to be a part of this team and applaud the efforts and communication. I am delighted
to see how the team has such a passion for this event and town that this festival seems to be promoted year round all working to help bring growth, revenue, character and life to this community.
I am also grateful for the partnership with Blue Moon and
F.E.B. Distributing Company. Together, we have grown this festival and
its impact to new levels. The Blue Moon Art Project contest has been
a fun addition. It is a state-wide art competition where artists submit
their interpretation of blue moon on canvas for a chance to be featured in the coming year’s festival. The winner showcased this year is a
coast native, Daniel Gurneck. Be looking for his signature “festival” cups anytime a blue moon is ordered at our local restaurants and bars during this season! I cannot thank the staff
at F.EB. Distributing enough for their artful partnership.
