Welcome
TO THE FESTIVAL
Welcome to the introduction for this year‘s Peter Anderson Arts
& Crafts Festival presented by Blue Moon. Now in its 41st year, this festival has grown beyond anything the organizers could have imagined. I would like to start with a special thank you
to the Anderson family for their inspiration, support, and legacy that they have created for this festival, for this community, and for artists and entrepreneurs alike.
I hope you enjoy this year’s activities as we share and showcase the creative economy and the city of Ocean Springs, its artists, local businesses, and the community with the world.
Many years ago, we coined this time of year as “festival season.” Oh, how it has created a fire and community of activities like no other.
The Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival’s growth could not have been reached without its presenting sponsor team, Blue Moon and F.E.B. Distributing. Inspiring all of downtown and beyond to showcase the festival theme throughout has breathed new life into the event.
This year, we are delighted to welcome iHeart Radio as the exclusive radio sponsor and Galleria BMW to the team. I cannot wait for their efforts to make you smile and feel right at home throughout the two-day event on November 2 and 3. Look for some art additions throughout the festival and check out the festival map and information pages for sneak peeks of the festivities.
The Young at Art Children’s exhibit was a brainchild of mine to grow the entrepreneurial spirt and inspire students ages 8 to 18.
This program helps them to spread their wings and step into the artist community. The vibrant team at
the Walter Anderson Museum of Art understands this spirit and is leading
the way with this project. I hope you will visit that area and feel the inspiration.
Music is art, and we have a hugely talented music community in Ocean Springs. We hope to showcase that along with area artists at the main stage located near the food court during the festival. From good food to live music and the Blue Moon Art Project Contest, you will want to spend some time with us in that area.
As you can imagine, it takes many months of hard work for
our team at the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism Bureau to put together this fine arts festival that, together with the team, artists, and surrounding support, has become one of the largest in
the region. The team consists of nearly 200 volunteers and staff who execute the two-day event. Please take a moment and get familiar with this festival guide so that you can be fully prepared to shop, eat and enjoy this downtown event on November 2 and 3.
