For the eighth year, the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism Bureau has partnered with
the Walter Anderson Museum of Art (WAMA) to bring Young at Art to those ages 8-18.
See a new generation
of artists on the WAMA
lawn, which on Saturday,
November 5 from 9
a.m.-3 p.m., will be
transformed into the
Young at Art Children’s
Art Market where young
creatives will have the opportunity to sell their works.
Development and Community Liaison at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art, Amanda Wymer, describes
the event as, “A wonderful opportunity to get kids in the community involved in the festival and with the museum, as well as fuel their entrepreneurial spirit. They get to live a day in the life of an artist, which is a wonderful learning experience and a great confidence builder. Plus, the kids keep all the proceeds from their sales.”
There will be plenty of room for participants to social distance their booths so that everyone can be as safe as possible. Participants must have a parent with them throughout the day.
Cynthia Sutton with the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce says she created the exhibit because, “We want to foster an artist community that provides ways
for young artists to showcase their pieces to the public. What better way to showcase their pieces during the Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival when more than 150,000 individuals will be in town!”
Make sure to stop by and support local budding artists at this one-day-only event!
