Bayou Bluff Tennis Club’s original clubhouse served its members for 40 years. In November 2021, the entire original clubhouse was demolished, and new construction began. This signals a new era of growth and development for the tennis club.
Located next to Bayou Bernard in Gulfport, this tennis club has stunning views, 10 hard tennis courts, and three state-of-the-art clay tennis courts. It also has a half Olympic-sized pool and a kiddie pool that overlooks Bayou Bernard. Furthermore, they now have a brand new $4 million, 9,000-square-foot clubhouse that was completed in May of 2023. The General Manager of Bayou Bluff Tennis Club, Lisa Metz, tells us that Bayou
Bluff also hopes to add pickleball courts someday.
For 18 months, a temporary triple wide trailer served as Bayou Bluff’s clubhouse and a temporary food trailer fed members
during that time. Now with the final building ready to go, the new clubhouse has excellent amenities for Bayou Bluff’s guests. There’s a stand-alone bar for those over 21, which accommodates 40-45 guests.
Metz is thrilled with the updates. “For example, the kitchen in the old club was 200 square feet. In the new kitchen, we currently have over 1,500 square feet. This helps us assist our members better than ever with a more extensive menu,” she explains. “We also have brand new wrap around porches for viewing tennis and enjoying our beautiful view of Bayou Bernard!”
Bayou Bluff Tennis Club has tennis programs for all ages and experience levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The tennis club currently offers the following membership options: family, single, active-duty military, non- resident, and under 30.
