FOCUS ON FASHION:
‘Tis the season to sparkle, shimmer, and shine! So, what will you be wearing under the mistletoe this year? Not to worry, because there are so many beautiful choices that whatever you select from current holiday fashion trends will certainly turn
all eyes in your direction. Think sequins, feathers, crushed velvets, metallics, and bold colors as you prepare to steal the party scene. Jump right in. They’re all waiting at every turn to brighten your holidays and make you glow from head to toe!
NEW PARTY WEAR TRENDS
Start with a traditional color, then add special interest. Red is the season’s classic, always safe and expected choice. But this year, try taking red to new heights in a bolder, brighter version displayed in shiny fabrics or sequins should you be in a sassy mood. Another more elegant option would be a deeper, darker red akin to burgundy in smooth or crushed velvet for a more sophisticated look. Either choice would be stunning and stand out beautifully at any party venue whether in pantsuit form or
as fancy pants paired with an oversized sweater.
Other fun holiday fashion approaches include crystal or metallic embellishments on most everything. These glimmering touches can add pizazz to jeans, jackets, handbags, and footwear. Classic cut button- down or shirtwaist blouses in shiny fabrics and bright colors like royal blue, hot pink, or emerald green can spice up even the most traditional suit; but they really pack
a powerful punch when partnered with
a luxurious black velvet dinner suit and rhinestone hoop earrings.
WEARING WHITE IN WINTER
White is no longer off-limits for winter months, but perhaps best worn alongside
its softer, sister shades. The many shades of white, regardless of the season, continue to make an elegant statement. It’s the weight, weave and texture of the fabric that brings these beautiful neutral tones to the fashion forefront.
Whether your favored hue is crisp white, off-white, cream, eggshell or ivory, don’t
be afraid of using it as a monochromatic color scheme with an added jacket of another tone or in combination with the other versions. A great look would be an ivory oversized cowl-neck or off-shoulder sweater worn with cream corduroy pants. Add matching ankle boots and festive jewelry for extra chic and polish. Silver, gold, or other metallic finishing touches
in accessories provide a contrasting and pleasing flash of sparkle. White is always classy but learn to give it a new twist for the highest holiday impact.
SETTING THE STYLE STAGE
Getting your holiday wardrobe ready should be just as much fun as the parties you’ll be attending. After all, those gatherings with family, friends and coworkers give you a reason to look your best, and looking your best is easy when you have a plan and pay attention to details. This year’s plan begins with an inventory of your existing basic party-wear items. Next, bring them up to holiday speed with delightful and cheerful new items readily available locally or online. Fabulous and fetching rhinestones, crystals, sequins, feathers, velvet, faux leather, and faux fur anxiously await. All are ready
to play a fun and festive role in your holiday party wear plan. It’s high time to jump on the sparkle, shimmer, and shine bandwagon. Then, simply lift your head, toss your hair, smile, and celebrate the season!
