Riggins is a Biloxi native and St. Patrick High School graduate who earned a Bachelors Degree in interior design from the University of Southern Mississippi. She returned to Biloxi after five years in New Orleans working with well-known interior design firm Tara Shaw as an associate designer. “I worked on many great design projects. Tara was an excellent mentor for me,” she recalls.
She explains that Linden Interiors works with design projects that range from small to large and offers an array of design services. “Linden Interiors loves to create meaningful, original and beautiful interiors that reflect the lifestyle of each client. No project is ever the same, which is why I love being a designer.”
Riggins' favorite style is a mix of contemporary and classic with European detailing. Her 'must haves' for styling a space are books, flowers, and an interesting object or ceramic piece. As for colors, she says, “There are many great colors out there. Every space is so different and that’s why I like selecting colors to tie back with clients' spaces.”
She notes some trends for 2023. “It's the year to add a statement to your walls with wallpaper; large scale wallpaper, floral, whimsical prints and scenic wall murals are a great way to show your personality. I’m seeing richer tones this year along with natural stone and tweed fabrics. Also, boucle is still in.”
What does she consider good advice for someone starting to design their home? “I recommend contacting an interior designer prior to building, remodeling or buying furniture. An interior designer and architect work together on what is the most functional layout for your home,” she says. “An interior designer will make sure everything in your home has a cohesive style from tile selections, lighting, furniture, paint colors, wallpaper, rugs, and decor. A designer will help you save time and money. There’s nothing worse than to be stuck with something that doesn’t fit in your home.”
