When it comes to health, what is one thing you wish that your patients knew?
To report hearing loss sooner rather than later.
What is the most unusual case you’ve ever had?
Tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, which isn’t a condition itself, but a symptom that can be caused by a variety of underlying conditions.
Who or what inspired you to pursue your career?
My mentor, Henry O’Malley.
What does practicing medicine mean to you?
Audiology is about reconnecting people through the diagnosis and management of hearing loss by delivering personalized care using state-of-the-art technology. I love seeing my patients’ expressions when they can properly hear family members or sounds they haven’t heard in a long time.
When it comes to health, what is one thing you wish that your patients knew?
Hearing loss is not only a challenge for those who suffer from it, but can also be frustrating for those trying to communicate with them. Hearing aids are for others as much as they are for the patient directly.
