Dr. Jeffrey J. Ickler is the medical director of Gulf Coast Weight Loss and Aesthetics. As a young adult, Dr. Ickler was inspired by his hometown doctor to go into the medical field. He graduated from Creighton University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and then received his M.D. from the University
of Nebraska. After that, he completed
a general surgery residency at the University of South Alabama and is
board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
His experience is with a broad spectrum of surgery in private practice for 18 years. This included extensive experience in weight loss. His scope
of practice now includes metabolic medicine and aesthetics.
In his 23 years of practice, Dr. Ickler has seen many interesting and unusual cases. He loves to practice medicine
because he sees it as his way of being useful to others. He is honored that people place their trust in him. With all of this experience, he believes a great doctor is someone who is relatable, empathetic, loves learning, and drinks coffee.
In Dr. Ickler’s spare time, he loves being outdoors (specifically fishing), spending time with animals, and seeing live bands.
