 of Harrison & Stone Counties’
NEW DIRECTOR
story by Lynn Lofton photo courtesy of CASA of Harrison and Stone Counties
Tiffany Dillard is the new executive director of CASA of Harrison & Stone Counties. She has 24 years of experience as a child welfare advocate including 14 years with Canopy Children’s Solutions. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in child and family education and a Master’s in early childhood education.
“It is evident that Tiffany has long committed to her passion and purpose of improving child outcomes and strengthening families,” said CASA Board President Renee Swoger.
Dillard says she is profoundly grateful for the opportunity to serve CASA and addresses the needs of the organization. “As of April 1, there were 293 children in child protective services custody in Harrison County and 74 in Stone County in need of a voice,” she said. “Our program exists because children living with the effects of abuse and neglect deserve to be heard.”
Last year, CASA volunteers around the country were the voices for nearly
240,000 children. “Unfortunately, each year there are many more children in need
of an advocate,” Dillard said. “You can help support our efforts by becoming an advocate, volunteer, or board member. Volunteers are the heart of our program and it’s our goal to support them in every way. Ninety four cents of every dollar raised goes directly into our programming to recruit, train, mentor, and educate our volunteers.”

Vitamin Warehouse in Biloxi is keeping up with the latest trends in health, wellness, and sports nutrition as customers continue to focus on improving their health and strengthening their immune systems in the wake of COVID-19.
Store manager Danny Grantham sees new and emerging trends regularly and has noticed the video-sharing social media platform TikTok currently playing a big role in
the interest they have in their store. The most popular supplements lately include Goli Red, a gummy that
puts a new twist on apple cider vinegar and Goli Blue,
or ashwaghandha, an adaptogen akin to ginseng that supports balance, mitigates stress and helps sleep. Collagen remains popular for the skin as well as inner health, and
sea moss is seen to help remineralize the body, support digestion and healthy skin.
With stress playing a part in people’s daily lives, Vitamin Warehouse recommends products such as holy basil to promote a sense of calm and relaxation as well as magnesium. Both products are available in the Biloxi location.
To help customers, Vitamin Warehouse has transitioned from its first Monday discount day to a week-long opportunity of 25 percent savings.
