BAY ST. LOUS - WAVELAND - DIAMONDHEAD - KILN
If you’re in the market for a new home and lifestyle, Hancock County should be at the top of your list. This place
is full of opportunity to build the home and life you’ve always wanted. Whether you’re looking for a creative and vibrant beachfront town like Bay St. Louis, wanting to get into an up-and-coming community on the cusp of major development like Waveland, seeking immaculately kept neighborhoods and premier recreational amenities like they have in Diamondhead or dreaming of a tranquil farmhouse on secluded acres in the Kiln, there is something for everyone.
The 3rd Annual Parade of Homes is coming up on July 17th, and offers an excellent snapshot of the real estate market. Each year there are homes shown in all areas of Hancock County at a variety of price points, making it inclusive of all ages and stages of the home buying process. The first and second years of the event were outstanding, showcasing 69 homes and attracting over 500 attendees both years. The event also generated $27.9 million in gross sales and over $300,000 in ad valorem taxes for Hancock County. Of course, the 2021 market is HOT, so you’ll definitely want to pursue an opportunity like this!
“I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a market like this,” said Parade of Homes Co-Chair, Regan Kane, Owner/Broker at John McDonald Realty. “Homes and lots are selling at an incredible pace, and construction is booming. It really speaks to what a great desirable community we have here.”
Janice Guido, Owner of Bay Life Gifts in Bay St. Louis and Parade of Homes Co-Chair, agrees with Kane. “Our community has so much to offer - great schools, charm, character and excellent quality of life. Plus, with Port Bienville and Stennis Space Center at our back door, we offer some of the best jobs at the highest wages in the region.”
Homes to be featured on the Parade will be posted at http://hancockmsmyhome.com as the listings are received, along with an interactive Google map and all information available. The event will take place from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. throughout Hancock County and is free and open to the public. Attendees may go directly to the homes they wish to tour or go to Parade Central at the Hancock County Visitors Center at The Depot. Volunteers will be at Parade Central to help people get their bearings and to answer questions. They will also have maps and guide sheets to distribute. Questions about the event may be directed to the Hancock Chamber of Commerce at 228-467-9048.
