While Habitat for Humanity is most well-known for building affordable houses and increasing homeownership, this is not the only program Habitat has to offer communities. Home repair is an integral part of Habitat’s mission and this year our Women [re]Build will address the need for critical home repairs in our community.
Our goal is to return homes to a safe, sanitary and secure condition and create healthy homes for our neighbors along the Coast. Since January 2018, Habitat Mississippi Gulf Coast has received more than 351 inquiries for home repairs from families in need of a secure place to shelter.
Through a collective effort, Women [re]Build committee members are dedicating their time and talents to help raise $5,000 each and are channeling their inner Rosie the Riveter by responding to the call to meet the needs of their community. Fundraising efforts have begun and will continue until September 1.
To date, twelve individuals and corporations have committed their support to this initiative, including, Habitat Mississippi Gulf Coast
