It’s not uncommon to wander upon a copy of our Meet the Doctors issue in local health care offices and clinics, pages dog-eared, cover battered, edges torn. That’s what it’s for, after all – this keepsake issue is meant to help our readers find the right fit for them among the many smiling faces. Its value comes not from the paper, but from the health care heroes within its pages.
From the bottom of our hearts, Team SML would like to thank the many health care professionals of the Coast for their dedication to caring for our community. Reading about the men and women in this issue, you’ll notice that many of them devote their days to helping those in need of medical care, and their free time is spent in much the same way. Community involvement is a common thread among these heroes, and one that often goes unnoticed.
So please join us in celebrating these amazing men and women, today and every day. Donate meals to hospitals and medical offices if you can, and share kind words of appreciation and encouragement with them whenever possible.
Also in this issue, we have partnered with Mississippi Power, the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT),
and WLOX to bring you this season’s storm preparation guide. With information on storm safety, a supply checklist, evacuation map and more, these local entities have you covered now through the end of November, which marks the end of this year’s hurricane season.
