Dr. Avit “Frere” Gremillion is best known as “Frere,” a nickname he was given by his family. “Frere” is French for “brother.” He specializes in diseases of the retina, such as:
Diabetic Retinopathy – the leading cause of vision loss among adults between the ages of 20 to 74
Macular Degeneration – the most common cause of blindness in patients 60 years and older Retinal Detachment – a medical emergency requiring immediate attention.
Dr. Gremillion is the only full service/full time retina specialist on the Gulf Coast. He has the most advanced equipment and uses the most advanced treatment options available.

Dr. Gremillion and his wife, Dr. Rachael Tadlock, have a home in Diamondhead, Mississippi. They are the proud parents of two children, Melissa and Cameron.
