The Power Is in the Planning
Now that the weather is warming up, we welcome more opportunities to be outdoors and enjoy the sunshine. Summertime
brings many of our favorite activities like afternoons on the water and simply slowing down a bit to enjoy life. But summer months also make conditions right for dangerous storms. As those of us on the Mississippi Gulf Coast know, hurricanes can cause major destruction and extended power outages, but we want you to know that Coast Electric crews are prepared to respond. Our team is storm tested and storm ready, and now is the time to ensure you and your family are prepared as well.
Take time before a storm is headed our way to discuss your emergency plans, plan your evacuation route, and restock your
emergency supplies. If you are planning to use a generator, make sure to take all necessary precautions for your own safety and for the safety of crews working on power restoration. After the storm, avoid downed power lines and walking through flooded areas where power lines could be submerged.
We hope we don’t experience severe storms this summer, but we
can never predict Mother Nature’s plans. At Coast Electric, we recommend that you act today because there is power in planning.
