Your Connection to Gulf Coast Business Development, Relocation and Workforce.
 Demetria Brown
Family and Consumer Science Teacher, Long Beach High School
“Opportunities for youth are my passion and being able to work with businesses in Harrison County was absolutely amazing. My students started getting internships at engineering firms, local clinics and hospitals, major manufacturing companies, and even in the field of hospital and tourism including Mississippi Aquarium. The students and I would not have had this opportunity if it hadn’t been for the Harrison County Development Commission.”
  Mark Sowerbutts
Plant Manager, Metadyne Gulfport
“Metadyne Gulfport is a powder metallurgy facility with the end material being tungsten carbide—an extremely strong material—which is shipped throughout North and South America as well as overseas. Applications are numerous include hardware, drilling, cutting, and in U.S. DOD items. “The Harrison County
Development Commission initiated a Meet and Greet for the local businesses where we can meet our counterparts in Harrison County and share technical information as well as find local businesses that can fulfill needs for our hardware, equipment, software and services we use day-to-day.”
 Sandy Commer-East
Career Pathways Specialist, Gulfport High School and Public Relations Director, Gulfport School District
“One of the important things we do within the Academic Institute at Gulfport High School is to provide our students with authentic learning experiences,
and Harrison County Development Commission has been just an amazing resource, not just to me but to our students. They’ve helped us connect with a lot of business and industry here on the Gulf Coast including at the Development Commission. Our students have learned to fly drones, develop apps, and practice graphic design. We know how important it is for our students to get that hands-on experience and having a partner like Harrison County Development Commission allows us to find some of those paid positions. We’re very grateful.”
