A VIBRANT MAIN STREET COMMUNITY
The mission of a Main Street is to help manage the change that occurs in the downtown area over time. Combining forces to work with city partners, these organizations help to preserve the character of a town, encourage authenticity, and create events and activities to help a community grow its sales tax base and provide a “sense of place.”
Ocean Springs Main Street has been supporting this community since 1989 when it became a part of the Ocean Springs Chamber’s tiered structure. From revitalization
and historic preservation to economic development,
Ocean Springs Main Street works hard in the community. Incorporating more than a dozen community events and festivals annually, Main Street helps to create a sense of place and growth with a huge economic impact.
In addition to promoting the downtown district and local businesses, Ocean Springs Main Street helps organizations introduce new audiences to the work force through personal interaction, media coverage, accolades, business recruitment, and retention.

WEEKLY MARKETS
This open-air market features plants, flowers, and locally-grown fruits and vegetables. Be sure to stop by Wednesdays from 3-6 p.m. at 401 Porter Avenue and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at 1000 Washington Avenue.
WALTER ANDERSON MUSEUM OF ART
Explore the history of the nationally-acclaimed Anderson family along with their friends in
this state-of-the-art museum. Visit their site, walteradersonmuseum.org, for fees and schedules.
SHEARWATER POTTERY
Celebrating its 95th year this year, Shearwater Pottery was founded in 1928 by master potter Peter Anderson. The pottery studio and annex still operate today! Be sure to stop by the showroom and shop.
