SADIE JANE’S FRESH SADIE JANE’S WREATHS
500-D Courthouse Rd., Gulfport | 228.209.9976 | www.sadiejanesflowers.com
Something new has bloomed in Gulfport. It’s Sadie Jane’s Fresh, a sister store to Sadie Jane’s, which has been in business since 2008 creating all manner of wreaths and selling decorative home pieces. Now the owners, mother-and-daughter team Jeanne Brackin and Ashley Fillingame, are offering a wide variety of fresh flowers and high-end gift items in a new location.
“We’ve been asked about having fresh flowers and wanting to do it for a long time,” says Fillingame. “We have a huge walk-in cooler that we’re excited about and can have flower deliveries every day as needed. We will strive to keep the freshest flowers possible.”
Brackin adds, “It’s a God thing; that’s why we’re here – his provision and our faith. Thanks to our wonderful ladies Carla, Jody, and Cindy for their tireless efforts at Sadie Jane’s and to our loyal customers over the years. They helped us birth this place.”
The shop has a large assortment of flowers and customers can come by and purchase by the stem if they choose. Also, flowers can be delivered locally and customers can have standing orders. The shop has a nice selection of vases and containers or you may bring your own container for floral arrangements.
Mother-daughter-duo Jeanne Brackin and Ashley Fillingame have always loved to create beautiful and eclectic decor for their homes as well as for their friends and family. “We have always been thrilled to be able to give our advice and help when asked by friends to plan and decorate everything from their homes, doors, parties, events and more,” says Fillingame. “When the opportunity presented itself to actually open a business doing what we truly love, we were beyond excited!”
They both made the decision to leave their full time jobs in 2010 so they could fully commit and put their all into building Sadie Jane’s. “When we took that leap of faith and fully trusted God
to provide financially and to grow our business, His blessings were truly miraculous,” says Brackin. “When you fully put your trust in Him and know and believe that He has provided an opportunity that you have prayed for for so long, you have to fully commit and never look back.”
Both have led very interesting lives, with Brackin having won a wreath making contest way back in 1992 and being published in The Great Wreath Book by Woman’s Day magazine. Before starting Sadie Jane’s, Fillingame was a studio camera operator and then a weekend reporter for WLOX-TV.
