 If you’re like me, going out to dinner
is most always a big deal. So many
people, so many different tastes, and SO many opinions. You’ve got the “I’m not picky” spouse who claims to be open to “whatever,” only to snub their nose at every dining suggestion. You’ve got the “I’m on
a diet” friend who insists on a place with a killer salad, then proceeds to eat the entire bread service before that bowl of lettuce hits the table. Or maybe it’s the limited taste children who swear they’ll eat the kid’s meal shrimp when secretly all they really want is the accompanying cookie.
I have found that there aren’t too many places that can truly satisfy the different tastebuds wreaking restaurant havoc in your life. However, there are a few local gems that cross the great divide of dining choices, weaving a delicious web of excellent food choices across disagreeable palates. Woody’s Roadside is such a place. It’s a coastal dining mecca fusing together excellent service, a fun atmosphere, great prices and most importantly, super yummy food.
Woody’s Roadside made its coastal dining
debut in Ocean Springs in 2011. Serving elevated bar food was the initial objective with a focus on in-house, fresh ground burgers. As a family-owned business, Woody’s wanted an enticing menu that wasn’t too overwhelming and offered delectable meals at affordable prices. The owners were definitely on to something as Woody’s popularity grew. The past
10 years have witnessed an expansion of locations in Biloxi and Gulfport, solidifying Woody’s as a restaurant staple on the Gulf Coast. If you’ve ever eaten at Woody’s, you definitely know why it’s a true coastal favorite.
If you’ve never tried Woody’s signature Cheese Bombs, then you ain’t been living right. Just put down the magazine and go. You can pick up where you left off as you treat yourself to twice-battered Monterey Jack cheese that is fried golden and served with marinara sauce. Large, square blocks of cheese not your thing? The Creole Shrimp Smackers are a perfect starter. Fried Royal Reds are lightly drizzled with the signature house-made Woody’s Sauce. An ever-growing crowd favorite are the
