Fundraising in Style
Renaissance the Runway will take the stage for its sixth year, this time at a new venue.
“This year we moved the event to the Biloxi Civic Center
and have already sold an additional 20 tables,” says Bacot McCarty Foundation Executive Director Todd Trenchard.
“The mega event will feature some 90 community models paired with 20 local boutiques.”
The event has garnered wide community support, which Trenchard says has led to the success Renaissance the Runway. We could never do any of this without having the best volunteers, supporters, as well as board and staff you could assemble,” he says. “Together, we've created a community fundraiser that truly will be the fashion event of the season – all for a great cause.”
The fashion show fundraiser benefits the Bacot McCarty Foundation, a community outreach organization that serves underprivileged youth through education and the arts.
South Mississippi Living is the proud presenting sponsor of the event. “This is a perfect fit for our magazine because it supports our boutique advertisers and as well as 15 non-profits, allowing us to promote so many small businesses while generating a huge return to help kids and families in need,” says South Mississippi Living Publisher and Bacot McCarty Foundation Board Member Michael Sunderman.
“It’s been very fulfilling to see how much Renaissance the Runway has grown over the past several years,” says Sunderman. “By working with the Bacot McCarty Foundation and dozens
of sponsors, we have now grown into one of the largest charity events in South Mississippi. This year, we expect a crowd of about 700 guests and will raise even more than the $150,000 we raised in 2021.”
