For as long as she can remember Bevin Redd Brewer has been a part of Redd Pest Solutions. Many of the employees watched her grow up. Now 48 and co-owner of the business, she feels more vested and involved in the day-to-day decisions.
“I am truly blessed and thankful to be a part of the Redd family and the extended family here at Redd Pest Solutions,” she says. “My dad was my inspiration. I have many wonderful memories of growing up in the business. Some of my favorite memories were the company camping trips and Christmas parties, attending pest control meetings and trade shows, eating pancakes at Kiwanis Pancake Day and volunteering at the Special Olympics.”
Brewer attended MGCCC and Southern Miss where she received a degree in marketing. She also has a cosmetology license and worked at Chuck Kelly Salon and Spa for almost 10 years before returning to Redd Pest Solutions as marketing director.
“The three greatest successes in my life are my husband
and my two children. They truly bring me joy, happiness and completeness,” she says as she and Eddie Brewer look forward to celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in January.”
Their son, Tripp, is a 2020 graduate of Southern Miss and the fourth generation in the family business. Daughter Isabella is following in her mom’s cosmetology footsteps as a student of the Aveda Cosmetology Institute and will graduate in November.
As the business celebrates 70 years, Brewer recalls the day
her husband asked her to come back and work in the company. “Eddie is our vice president and involved with all aspects of our business. Over the years, I’ve watched him grow in his leadership and the team he has surrounded himself with,” she says. “I’m very fortunate to be able to work side by side with him. We strive to always support each other and make decisions together.”
To young entrepreneurs looking to follow in her footsteps, Brewer cites Romans 12:2, “Don’t conform to the patterns of this world,” she says. “This is a tough world to live in sometimes, so my advice is to always lift each other up, encourage one another’s success, and be kind.”
