Who or what inspired you to pursue your current career? I knew I always wanted to be involved in the fashion industry, I just didn’t know how to make an impact until my husband suggested opening my own store.
What I like best about what I do is:
I love encouraging women to embrace their best qualities through fashion. When you love your outfit, you tend to love yourself.
What moment from your life made the biggest impact on your career? Moving to New York definitely played a critical role in my life. It allowed me to explore parts of myself and the world
I never thought I needed. It opened my eyes to different cultures, styles, and experiences that allow me to integrate unique characteristics into Tribe!

At Coastal Hearing Center, Karen Slater has served some hearing impaired families for more than 30 years. She
grew up in Gulfport and has worked at the same practice since 1991. “Hearing is a sense that most people take for granted,” she says. “When it is lost, it can severely affect communication with others. I enjoy helping people regain the ability to fully engage with their loved ones.”

There are three professional women contributing to patient care and making a difference at Jernigan Chiropractic & Rehabilitation. They are Michelle Lins, D.C., Katanya Ford, D.C. and Katie Cosper, OTR/L. Being able to work in professions they enjoy is what they like most about what they do.
“I am inspired by shadowing patients and wanting to help them,” says Lins.
Ford says she is inspired because she wants to make a difference and Cosper says she is inspired to help people live more fulfilling lives with less pain.
“My advice to women is don’t let anyone keep you from reaching your goals,” Ford said. “As women we want to create a support system and a community of like-minded individuals.”
The COVID-19 pandemic made an impact on their work because it affected patient care and made interactions more important.
Lins says most people probably don’t know she’s from Iowa, and Cosper says her little-known personal fact is that she’s adopted.
All of the ladies like living on the Coast because they enjoy the sunshine and going to the beach.
