Looking back on her childhood, Jacqueline Ready sees that a career in real estate was her perfect path. The owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Panoramic Properties recalls, “I’ve always loved houses, architecture and interior design, especially old houses that need love. I would tear out and save house plans from magazines as a kid.”
With that passion, Ready finds selling property akin to matchmaking. “But it’s also community development,” she says. “There infinite facets to real estate, and it can be a mental challenge. We solve problems for our clients and help make their dreams come true.”
She lists her biggest successes as choosing an excellent partner in marriage and raising their beautiful son. “They are my priority and greatest joy. Family and faith are what motivates any business success I experience,” she said. But her life wasn’t always that way. “I was a workaholic before my son was born, and work really gave me my purpose,” she recounts. “Life after Leo has realigned my ambition. I want to succeed in business so I can enjoy our life together as a family, not live to work.”
An entrepreneur since age 19, Ready has worked as a non- profit manager, magazine editor, and festival planner. She has continued that entrepreneurship and feels it’s important for women to support each other.
“We’re paving the way for little girls to become bosses and role models,” she says. “Learn to love and celebrate the growth of other women. If you have the experience, share it. There is enough opportunity out there for each of us, and not one of us can be duplicated.”
For relaxation, she says there’s no better way to end the day than watching the sunset from Salute, Sea Level, or Bacchus.
