   The ladies of Lighthouse Academy for Dyslexia leadership team are tipping the scales for students with dyslexia on the Gulf Coast. Each of the women bring their expertise and perspectives to the table while meeting multi-faceted de- mands of creating and sustaining a state accredited, special purpose school from its inception and growth. Additionally, each of them hold certification as Academic Language Therapists and licensure from the Mississippi Department of Education in multiple areas.
Sorrel Duncan’s background in human resources, advanced training in math, and passion for education distinctively equipped her to fill the school’s need for a financial director and dyslexia therapist.
Founder of the Lighthouse Academy Diagnostic Center Kelly L. Nastasi has a background in speech and language pathology and has a deeply personal journey through the

challenges of a child who is twice exceptional, gifted and dyslexic. Her work with the diagnostic center inspired her to recently complete her psychometric certification to further round out her unique professional skill set.
Stephanie Hill’s many years in the private school arena and her connection with HillTree Marketing has put her in the unique position to give of her talents to further the aware- ness work of the organization as marketing and communica- tion director and dyslexia therapist.
Both Traci Barrientos, executive director, and Lauren Houston, principal were brought to their career fields through personal experiences that shaped and formed the blueprint of the Lighthouse student experience where stu- dents spend the first half of their day learning tools to help them cope with dyslexia while spending the second part of their day exploring and developing their individual strengths.
