W.P. Shelton Jewelers has been in business for over 78 years. Cathy Shelton Reed and her daughter Dianne Reed Murray
are the proud owners of the establishment.
Reed’s father, W.P., started the business back in 1945. The
best part of the job is seeing the happiness a piece of jewelry can bring a person. “We love transforming an old
family heirloom into a new heirloom that will continue to be passed through generations,” they say.
Reed and Murray understand that every customer that walks through their door is different. “We put a
lot of time and effort into each project, from simple to complex,” they explain. “Each person has a
different budget and idea of what their piece of jewelry should be. We hope all of our customers feel that they get a unique experience when they
shop with us.”

As a licensed Independent Life and Health Agent, Sharon Trippe finds much fulfillment in her career. “I enjoy meeting people every day, getting to know and assist them with the complex subject matter that is MEDICARE,” she says. “In today’s world of junk mail, incessant TV commercials,
and telemarketing calls, I want to be a local person who is available to my customers who need valuable knowledge and professional guidance in choosing their healthcare plans.”
While she respected her father’s career path as an educator
in the Air Force and for many years in Biloxi Public Schools, Sharon never aspired to become a teacher herself. “I was always proud of how all of his former students remembered him so fondly and with admiration,” she said. “In undertaking the challenges of my chosen profession, funnily enough, I found myself being an educator after all!”
