Owner, Cheryl’s Steakhouse
Cheryl Parker has wanted to own a restaurant since she was 10. Cheryl worked in fast food while in high school, which is where her true passion for the industry was born. She was inspired to pursue her dreams by her high school vocational technology teacher.
Now, Cheryl’s Steakhouse has been an Ocean Springs gem located in the same spot for 24 years. With paper bag menus and great Southern sweet tea, Cheryl is proud to say that guests come in as friends and leave as family. She loves to help make people happy by feeding them a good meal.
This award-winning mom-and-pop restaurant has
a casual and friendly atmosphere, and some of their specialties include burgers and, of course, steak. She believes that what sets Cheryl’s Steakhouse apart is the open pit steak grilling.
Cheryl acknowledges that owning your own business can be stressful, but considers her restaurant to be her greatest success.
“We have to lift each other up,” Cheryl says
when asked about the importance of supporting other woman-owned businesses. “Young women entrepreneurs should follow their dreams and never
 give up.”
