  Breast Cancer Tournament

WaterView Casino Hotel’s Inaugural Breast Cancer Benefit Golf Tournament was held in October at the Vicksburg Country Club. Nineteen teams comprised of local and surrounding businesses participated,
raising $20,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Organizers said they were pleased so many businesses were interested in the first tournament and they are looking forward to making this an annual event.
  Sleepout For Homeless Veterans
Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast supported the Sleepout for Homeless Veterans in November. Hosted by the Robert Burns American Legion Post 16, the event was held at the American Legion. Hollywood provided pallets, personal care items, towels, linens, and rollaway beds for the sleepout, which was in part a fundraiser to help end homelessness for veterans.
   Fundraising for Alzheimer’s
 Harrah’s Gulf Coast donated $5,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mississippi Chapter. Team members
at the Biloxi resort raised money through multiple fundraising initiatives, including ping pong tournaments and participation in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event. Harrah’s executives and team members presented the check to Terri Roddy (center, right), executive director at Alzheimer’s Association Mississippi Chapter.
 Biloxi First
Golden Nugget donated $5,000 to Biloxi First, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the city’s public schools. Biloxi First has a vision of inspiring and supporting creative projects, enhancing curriculum, and helping to develop the full scholastic potential of students in the Biloxi school district.
