Meet Matt Haley. A dedicated law enforcement officer with over 25+ years of experience, all within the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Matt Haley started his career with Harrison County at the age of 23. “So it’s not just a job, this is my home,” says Haley.
Haley has served this community wearing many different hats: K9 handler, Criminal Interdiction, Investigator, Federal Task Force Agent, and Commander of the Coastal Narcotics Enforcement Team, just to name a few. Now in the latter part of his career, he serves as an Administrative Captain over three divisions and works closely with the Sheriff in helping make decisions for the department’s current and future well being. He will retire this year and seek office as the next Harrison County Sheriff.
If elected, Haley will work to enhance school safety programs, address the concern of deadly fentanyl coming through our community, and staffing issues that all of our law enforcement agencies are seeing across the Coast. “As your Sheriff, it will be my mission to lead public safety in Harrison County by diligently pursuing excellence and professionalism, all while reflecting the values of the community we serve,” he says.
