ith the philosophy of “Together we are Making a Difference,” the Bacot McCarty Foundation is serving and meeting needs of the community. Executive Director Todd
Trenchard makes it clear that sponsors are the reason. “We could not accomplish what we do without the generous support from dozens of local corporations, as well as small businesses, across our region,” he said. “First and foremost, obviously is the IP Casino Resort Spa, which has donated well over $1.7 million to the foundation over the past
eight years. This partnership has helped to empower many organizations and causes.”
Additionally, Chevron Pascagoula Refinery, Mississippi Power Company, Fred’s Super Dollar & Pharmacy, Butch Oustalet Chevrolet Cadillac, Fletcher Construction, Gulf Sales & Supply, Air Masters, Bienville Orthopedic, Edward Jones, Thompson Engineering, Wayne Lee’s Grocery, First Federal, Hancock Bank, Charter Bank, Vice Construction, Tay’s BBQ, Scranton’s Restaurant, F.E.B. and Gallo Family Vineyards make significant financial contributions annually to the organization. “Collectively, these funds have helped the foundation address the unmet

needs of youth, education and cultural programs across the region,” Trenchard added.

This year a new fundraiser, Renaissance the Runway, was added and was a resounding success. The event was held at IP Casino Resort & Spa, with proceeds benefitting the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, CASA, the DREAM Program, Rock U 2 and the Gulf Coast Youth Symphony.
“Renaissance the Runway was an absolute success, and much bigger than we could have imagined,” Trenchard said. “This event took a great deal of teamwork from all angles and we were lucky to have such a supportive group of non-profits, boutiques and especially, models.
