Sponsor Charter Bank and all of our generous sponsors for helping to present this event.”
The fashion show was themed after a day in the life of a Gulf Coast woman, and involved local retailers by featuring fashions from their stores. Volunteer models were styled by a variety of coastal stores, with hair and makeup provided by Chris’ Beauty College. The event raised funds for the chosen organizations and charities through ticket sales as well as live and silent auction items. The Bacot McCarty Foundation hopes to continue the event in the future.
Participating shops included Back on the Rack, Bay Collection, Belk, Elle Boutique, Gatlin’s, Ivy Boutique, Jensa Jo’s, Jubilee, Lee Tracey Boutique, The Formal Affair, The Radish Loft, S.F. Alman, Ltd., and White Willow.
Trenchard added that hosting a fashion show is clearly different from a golf tournament, but that aspect made Renaissance the Runway that much more exciting. “Having the opportunity to try something new was definitely fun,
and we were able to reach out to an entirely new crowd to introduce more people to our focus of work,” he said.
He also feels the foundation is blessed to enjoy major media exposure in the area through the generous in-
kind giving provided by WXXV FOX 25, WGUD TV-19, Mississippi Press, South Mississippi Living magazine and others. “Because of these organizations and many others, the Bacot McCarty Foundation has enjoyed tremendous success serving as a conduit of funds to more than 30 of
the charitable organizations of our region,” he said. “From presenting scholarships and helping to empower leadership programs, to hosting mega events that benefit multiple organizations and causes, the foundation has become a vital part of the community.”
