Brianna doesn’t find school challenging. She just goes and gets her work done but finds time to enjoy being with her friends. She plans to attend Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College after high school.
“I love to go running and help my brother train for baseball and basketball when I’m not in school,” she said.
She is concerned about her generation’s peer pressure and the feeling that you have to fit in with everyone else. “But I am very strong minded and I believe I won’t fall under pressure,” she affirms.
Nineteen-year-old Brianna Bennett’s favorite subjects at Harrison Central High School are math and science. That seems like a good fit for the daughter of dentist parents, Kinyatta Bennett and the late Christopher Bennett.

is an excellent representative of Gulfport High School. A senior, he is active on campus as a team member of Youth Legislation and Model United Nations, on the student council, a student ambassador, and member of the ACT30+ Club.
“John is driven and

him. This young man
wants to go into public policy in college and ultimately be a lawyer,” said Sandy Commer-East, career pathways specialist and public relations director of the Gulfport School District.
His favorite school subjects are government and history, which are a good fit for his plans to study public policy after high school. His college choice is still to be decided.
Asked what he thinks is the most pressing issue facing his generation, he responded, “I feel the most pressing issue affecting my generation is finding the courage to abandon complacency in our daily lives.”
