to attend Mississippi State University and major in petroleum engineering,” he
states. “While I’m there I hope to Co-op with Chevron during the summers of my sophomore and junior years.”
John Michael is usually working, hanging out with friends or fishing when he’s not in school.
Asked how he would change the world if he could,
he answered, “I would change the education system by allowing high school students to pick their schools based on their interests and I would start specific career-based high schools and programs.”
Engineering will definitely be a part of John Michael Moran’s future. The St. Patrick Catholic High School junior plans to have an engineering career.

Optimistic, goal-driven, responsible, and kind are words that any of 18-year-old Brooklyn Hudson’s peers would use to describe her. The senior at D’Iberville High School (DHS) strives for perfection in all she does, from her position as captain of the DHS Varsity cheer team to her academic and philanthropic efforts.
Hudson is a member
of the National Honor
Society and the Student Council, Ocean Springs Cotillion, and is on track to graduate as a Mississippi Scholar with High Honors. She was also selected as a homecoming maid her freshman, sophomore, and junior years, and is also a member of the DHS Hall of Fame.
She is excited to have been accepted into the architecture program at Mississippi State University, where she plans
to attain a degree in architecture and a minor in interior design. “My end goal is to start my own successful business designing, building, selling, and decorating houses,”
she says.
Hudson has set many goals for herself and says she will go
above and beyond to achieve them. “My mom is my biggest supporter and my best friend,” she says. “I could not have accomplished any of these things without having her by my side.”
