  DIRECTIONS
TURNIPS
1. In a large stock pot on high heat, add water, broth, pork concentrate, butter, bouillon cubes, bacon, shallots, and liquid smoke to the pot. Bring to a boil.
2. Add turnips, making sure that the turnips are fully submerged. Bring to a boil again.
3. Lower heat to medium and allow greens to simmer for 45-50 minutes.
Tip: Keep an eye on the liquid level, add water or broth as needed. You want there to be enough liquid in the pot to boil the dumplings when added as well.
CORNBREAD DROP DUMPLINGS
1. In a large bowl, mix all dry dumpling ingredients.
2. Slowly pour and mix in the buttermilk.
3. Repeat step with the water.
4. Mix in the beaten egg and butter until well combined.
5. Lightly spray a tablespoon with EVOO, scoop the dumpling dough and gently drop the dough into the turnip greens. Repeat process until the dough has all been used.
6. Cook the turnips and dumplings on medium heat for another 20-25 minutes until greens are soft, and dumplings are thoroughly cooked.
7. Serve.
Tip: Serve with a side of pickled onions. You won’t be disappointed.
