NaTonya Parish, owner of the The Magnolia Diner, never really considered opening a restaurant until God placed the opportunity in her lap. She took a giant leap of faith and opened the diner on November 1, 2021, in Gulfport.
“I’m so happy that I did,” Parish said. “Because I love it here, and The Magnolia is made up of little pieces of everything I’ve been praying for.” Parish was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in a small community called Side Kamp, and has worked in the restaurant industry in some capacity for about eight years.
The Magnolia Diner has already gained notoriety for collard green egg rolls and
lamb chops. Their grits and seafood grilled cheese is also making a wave along the Coast, and they’ve recently added steaks to the menu. “The Magnolia Diner gives you a hometown feel of the Gulf Coast and serves all of your southern favorites in our own unique way,” Parish said. “We have this saying – the first time you dine with us, we are friends, the second time, we are family.”
The Magnolia Diner is located at
1429 25th Avenue, Gulfport, and is open Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday, 7 a.m.-10 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Breakfast is served all day on Saturday.
