What characteristics make a great physical therapist? Listening to your patients, caring about what they do, and educating them
on which treatment approach is best. Be different. Patients are not numbers.
What is the best advice you’ve received? Stay true to yourself. Who or what inspired your medical career? Sports injuries and my family.
In your opinion, what is the public’s biggest misconception about your field? That we are just an optional medical service.
What does being a physical therapist mean to you? Making a difference in each patient’s life, seeing results, and offering evidence- based services that can truly help those who need it.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Offshore fishing, spending time with family, and sports.
Cade Steen, P.T., D.P.T.

In your opinion, what is the public’s biggest misconception about your field? That physical therapists are out to hurt people. In reality, we attempt to do the exact opposite through understanding each patient and providing a tailored treatment program.
What does being a physical therapist mean to you? Providing the highest quality treatment and delivering it in the most ethical, caring, and professional manner.
Have you had an interesting or unusual case you can tell us about? I’ve treated patients ranging from 2 weeks to 95+ years old. You never know what’s going to walk through the door. That’s part of why I love my job. Things are always interesting!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I love spending time with my wife and our dogs. We could be traveling, out on the water, driving along the beach, or watching a movie... all of it brings a smile to my face!
