What is the best advice you’ve received:
Don’t go through fertility alone. We do this most days of our lives
and can see things in minutes that sometimes take people years to figure out. Your time, hope, energy, and future family is too valuable to be left to the random advice of relatives and Dr. Google.
In your opinion, what is the public’s biggest misconception about your field:
The silliest concept is that people who failed contraception should give you advice about fertility. Most friendly advice is irrelevant, including hips in the air, boxers instead of briefs, cold showers, Geritol, Robitussin, pineapple core, and more.
Trying harder won’t open up blocked tubes. Taking a vacation doesn’t improve sperm counts. Relaxing won’t change the DNA of eggs (a woman is born with every egg she will ever have). Lifestyle is far less of an influence than many think.
