Call Wildlife Solutions, Inc. Founded in 1999 by J.J. McCool, Wildlife Solutions, Inc. started as a forestry and wetland restoration company. While the name of the company accurately reflected its business, McCool found himself receiving inquiries for nuisance wildlife removal and exclusion services often. In 2009, Michael Niemeyer, Jr. approached McCool with a business plan to create a full-service wildlife control company. Since then, the company has been going strong and growing every year. It employs nine full and part-time employees and services from Orange Beach, Alabama to Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi.
“During the summer months, it is very common for coastal residents to encounter snakes, armadillos, raccoons (yes, even during the day – which is not a cause for concern), bats, foxes, coyotes, and so on,” explains Niemeyer.
So, when is it best to call animal control professionals versus just

Nobody likes
relaxing at home
only to have local wildlife
interrupt. Whether it be a
raccoon that got into your walls, bats
in your attic, or snakes in your yard, it can be
difficult to unwind with the knowledge that they’re around. What is there to do?
Michael Niemeyer Jr.,
leaving the animals
alone? “Don’t call a professional for
sightings of raccoons, foxes, or opossums during the day. These animals, especially breeding females, have a lot of nutritional demand on
their bodies, and seeing them out during daylight doesn’t mean they’re sick,” Niemeyer clarifies. “They, like us, need to drink more water during the heat of the summer as well as forage for the benefit of their nursing young.”
“A professional wildlife specialist is needed in any situation that requires access to your roof or attic. Operators and volunteers may not carry workman’s compensation or general liability insurance. Having someone uninsured on your roof or in your attic dealing with heights, electrical hazards, and potentially
rabid animals can be catastrophic for a home or business owner,” Niemeyer recommends. “You can even ask for proof of insurance and/or workman’s compensation documentation.”
Wildlife Solutions prides itself on being insured, eco-friendly, and humane. They often attempt to get animals to relocate themselves and then animal-proof the residence to prevent a recurrence, but all forcibly relocated animals are taken to a safe area.
