story by Kimberly C. Rasmussen IT'S NEVER TOO LATE FOR A CAREER CHANGE
FORGING A NEW PATH
Have you ever stood in your closet and blankly stared at a multitude of clothing trying desperately to figure out what you wanted to wear? Dresses, jeans, and blouses all stare back as you deliberate which outfit suits you best. The wrong decision could potentially damper your entire mood for the duration of the day, while the right choice
could be the perfect flattering finish to your morning routine. Either way, it can sometimes be a pretty big decision.
Now imagine applying that same logic to your life, specifically, your career. Choosing one thing to do... every single day... for the rest of your professional existence can be daunting. I have trouble committing to the same mascara. Life commitments are entirely next level.
Throughout the last century, the presence of women in the workforce has grown exponentially. There has been a
continual shift from a solely domestic and maternal role to one where women can be anything we want. Armed with shoulder pads and a fierce, no-nonsense attitude, we are able to pick and choose a job based on areas in which we excel, not just from what is available or in demand. We went from having no job to having all the jobs! So, the choice should be pretty easy, right?
