Changing careers from being a pharmacist to being her own boss as an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay has made a difference in Dr. Atiya McNeal’s life.
“I’ve worked long hours, missed holidays, field trips and plenty
of play dates. As a single
parent it was hard to see
that, but I had to provide for my children,” she says. “Now, I create my own schedule and have time to spend with my girls.”
McNeal likes teaching others about skin care and helping them build confidence in themselves.

of other people’s careers,” she says. “Not only am I working
to help my clients’ businesses thrive, I’m also learning about the products they sell, their different techniques, and see things through their perspectives.”
With her real estate business, she enjoys learning and growing through the constant changes
in the real estate industry and learning about other realtors’ transactions.

W.P. Shelton Jewelers has been in business for over 75 years. Cathy Shelton Reed and her daughter Dianne Reed Murray are the proud owners of the establishment.
Reed’s father, W.P., started the business back in 1945. The best part of the job is seeing the happiness a piece of jewelry can bring a person. “We love transforming an old family heirloom into a new heirloom that will continue to be passed through generations,” they say.
Reed and Murray understand that every customer that walks through their door is different. “We put a lot of time and effort into each project, from simple to complex,” they explain. “Each person has a different budget and idea of what their piece of jewelry should be. We hope all of our customers feel that they get a unique experience when they shop with us.”
