Kay Dowdy is no stranger to the Mortgage World. She has seen every side of the sales, residential building, credit, and lending aspects of the industry. Having been a realtor for eight years and working for a builder, she knows the challenges many realtors face. She has been a Mortgage Loan Officer since 2012, and now she is using her years of knowledge to assist people along the Gulf Coast to find the best mortgage for their needs as the Director of Mortgage Lending at Navigator Credit Union.
The most important impact of her career
was the first time she worked with a First
Time homebuyer. She recalls the moment they communicated that she was an essential part
of making their dream of home ownership a reality, saying it was “one of the most rewarding benefits she has ever obtained.”
Dowdy believes that women have the power to build each other up when the world tries to tear us down. “Be the one that straightens the other women’s crown, not the one that points out that it is crooked,” she says.
Never stop trying and believing, “Dowdy advises other female entrepreneurs. “I challenge myself every day. If you give up and quit, you never know what could be waiting right around the corner.”
She has learned to step outside of the “norm” and envision what she wants her life to be like. My greatest success is that I don’t settle. She encourages, “Don’t settle for what life gives you,
you MUST go get it.”
