next station, and we remembered something else Lucas told us: the Palace Buffet is really several smaller restaurants in one. Even if we only visited one station, the offerings are so plentiful, they make for a complete meal. But why stop at one, so we continued to where seafood reigns, the Coastal station, enjoying peel-and-eat shrimp (with house- made remoulade sauce), seafood dressing, shrimp jambalaya, baked flounder, and fried oysters, catfish and shrimp. And, diners can easily turn their spicy boiled shrimp into a low country boil with the boiled potatoes and corn.
Made-to-order pasta dishes are also available with diners selecting their sauces, meat and seafood, vegetables and even specific spices.
Custom-made dishes
can also be found at the
Wok station, where chefs
grill vegetables, meat
and seafood in front
of you on an oversized
Mongolian barbecue grill.
Your Way,” as we did, you select what you’d like in your meal. Chicken, pork or shrimp are a few choices, and then add in your sauce, maybe plum, teriyaki or Kung Pao, followed by seasonings. Do you want your dish prepared with rice or noodles? The
choice is yours. Take a bowl and put in all the vegetables you want from the array of a dozen or so choices. Give the bowl and your preferences to the chef and wait for a delicious entrée.
We filled our bowl with uncooked bean sprouts, scallions, mushrooms, carrots and peppers, and asked for chicken with peanut sauce and crushed red pepper served with rice noodles. The result was an amazing Asian dish that we helped to create. It is no mystery why this is a busy station.
Desserts, including pies, cakes, ice cream and cobbler, are plentiful at Palace Buffet.
 Additional Asian offerings include
the Vietnamese pork chops, teriyaki chicken, tempura onion rings, seafood delight and veggie fried rice. And there is a delightful inside-out crab rangoon dish that will have you
his plate high with his favorite banana pudding, which he readily recommended. The desserts come from the Palace’s in-house bakery, and there are also plenty of sugar-free options.
After experiencing the Palace Buffet, it is easy to see why it has received so many accolades.
The buffet is clean and bright, the food is fresh and delightful, and the culinary team talented. Check it out and see for yourself.

We ended our meal with a visit to check
