 COAST NOTE
 IN MEMORIAM:
CAYCE SEAL story by Victoria Snyder
Son, brother, father, and partner. Athlete, coach, and bull rider. Firefighter and lineman. Soulmate. These are just a few words used when describing Entergy Lineman Cayce Seal who passed at the age of 28 on June 26, 2021. Seal was laid to rest at Lakeshore Cemetery on July 1, 2021.
Hundreds of mourners gathered at St. Clare Catholic Church to remember the life of the Bay St. Louis native on July 1. It is obvious that Seal’s life impacted many, and even in death he will continue to help those in need. Seal donated his organs to save the lives of others, and his family asked for donations to be made to the Bay Area Youth Soccer league in lieu of flowers.
Seal is survived by his soulmate, Cassandra “Cassie” Lassabe and his children, Declan Thomas and Anistyn Reese; his parents, Bay St. Louis Councilman Doug Seal and Michele Seal; his brother, Cody Seal and his nephew, Easton; his grandparents, Charles and Billie Lowery and Annette Moran; his parents-in-law, Gregory and Danie Ladner; and an array of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends he considered family.
“Cold” and “icy” are not words usually words used when thinking of the Gulf Coast. However, with professional hockey coming back to Biloxi, South Mississippians will have to get used to them. After being without a professional hockey league since 2014, Coastal Mississippians who are fans of the sport have something to be excited about.
The Mississippi Coast Coliseum was home to the Sea Wolves from 1996-2009. The team won the Kelly Cup in the
1998-1999 season. From 2009-2014 the Mississippi Surge called the Coast home.
Biloxi Pro Hockey is excited to announce that this winter, the Mississippi Coast Coliseum will be hosting three neutral site minor league games. These three games are just the first step in bringing hockey back to the Gulf Coast full-time.
It’s time to get your hockey gear out! Tickets are on sale now!
